Our clients are mainly Black Country folk too. We specialise in family law, and our solicitors are highly qualified and accredited in this field. We offer a professional, friendly, sympathetic and objective service. We take both private and publicly funded (Legal Aid) clients. |
Children
Putting their needs first
In any case involving children, their wellbeing and happiness is our most important consideration. Our team of family lawyers are all accredited members of the Law Society's Children Panel, Family Law Panel or Resolution. This means we agree to encourage families to resolve disputes in a constructive, conciliatory and non-confrontational manner.
We can help you with:
Family breakdown
If your relationship ends, you may argue over who your children will live with and how often they will see the other parent. We help all sides to negotiate and come to an agreement that puts the needs of the children first. Where cases do go to court we provide you with clear advice and firm representation.
We also act for grandparents who are worried about losing touch with their grandchildren. In some cases, we help grandparents apply for the children to live with them.
Care proceedings
If Social Services become involved with your family, or your children are taken into care, our skilled lawyers will guide you through this specialised area of law. Often, we can help parents and Social Services to work together, to stop care orders being issued. Helping your family to stay together.
We also help grandparents apply for the children to live with them instead of being taken into care.
Adoption
If you are looking to adopt we can help in both private and public law situations.
Private adoptions: You may be a step-parent who wants to take on parental responsibility for your partner's children. Or someone who is taking on the children of a deceased relative.
Public law child protection provisions: We advise families who are adopting children currently in the care of Social Services.
We also act for biological parents who want to stop their children being adopted.
Special guardianship
This is an order that gives full parental responsibility to someone who is not the child's parent. It allows you to make decisions about the child's upbringing and overrides the wishes of anyone else with parental responsibility. For example, you may be a grandparent who wishes to take full responsibility for your son or daughter's children.
Fixed fee consultation only £95 +VAT
Before you begin the legal process you can book a one-off chat with one of our family law solicitors. This successful and popular service is led by your questions and allows you to find out what your options are.
If you are on a low income you may be able to claim Public Funding (Legal Aid) to cover your legal costs. We can assess your eligibility and arrange this for you. Fees for care proceedings are always publicly funded if you are the parent of the child concerned.
